A 3 Photo Storyboard. I saw photos like these at a craft fair, but they were black and white up-close photos of everyday things that looked like letters, and they were framed to spell things, mostly last names. So I wanted to try it for a Christmas word and when I saw this lesson for a storyboard, I had to put these in. I can't wait to display this at Christmas time.

One of my new favorite photos of Telena. This was taken just last week and I LOVE it! Photo spruced up with an edge burn technique.

Photo of Rylee from last week too. I had just cut her hair a few days before this and when I saw this picture in black and white she looked so much more grown up to me. Same edge burn technique.

One of our ten piglets. This day they were eating out of my hand and I was taking pictures of them. They're so cute! They are about 2 weeks old here. Same edge burn technique (can you tell I like doing this).

Rylee had a week long dance camp at the end of June. She loved it and she learned many new moves. She's so cute. Textures and text on a photo.

Rylee's hands holding a mountain bluebell. We picked a bunch of these flowers when we went camping at the end of May- they're Cole's Mom's favorite- to bring to her, but they wilted before we got them to her. Photo with a faux "Through The Viewfinder" (TTV) technique and a slightly vintage recoloring. I love it like this- it makes her hand look just a little more dirty :)

A 9 photo grid. These photos are of Rylee last year with flowers that grew in the flower beds of the rental house we lived in. She liked picking these and I couldn't resist taking a ton of pictures because her shirt matched perfectly. This was probably one of my favorite things to make in this class and it wasn't as hard as it looked. Photo grid with frames, brushes and text.

Upgrade!

I have been using a photo-editing software for a few years now (wow has it been that long!) called The Gimp. It was free and it took some getting used to. I felt like I could never quite get my photos to look how I wanted them without a LOT of work, so when I saw a coupon for Photoshop Elements 7 in a recent Costco mailer, I couldn't pass it up. I upgraded! And just in time for this awesome class at www.jessicasprague.com that teaches photo framing and other really cool techniques. It's been a great intro to Photoshop because she shows you everything step by step and mostly through screen-shot videos. It's been so much fun. Here are the pictures I've done:


One of our sweet puppies. This is so a part of my life right now. Molly had 9 puppies this spring and we have been trying to sell them for a few weeks now. We are now down to 3 left, so wish us luck! I look forward to not having to wade through a sea of puppies whenever I step out my back door, but at the same time puppies are so much fun to play with! Here is Cade with another puppy- the one we call Black Beauty (we make up temporary names for the puppies so we can tell them apart) that we have decided to keep. Molly is 6 years old already and we thought the kids would really love to have a puppy around to play with. But actually Cole got too attached to this one ;) This photo is taken in our pasture and decorated with a brush by Rhonna Farrer, Font is SP Guacamole (I think).

A picture of one of our many lilac bushes around our house this spring. I loved going outside to check the mail everyday just so I could walk by this lovely beauty and inhale the wonderful scent of lilac. We have this one in front of our house by the road and then a row of them on the side between us and a neighbor instead of a fence. We love it! Grungy Photo mask by Jessica Sprague.

An up-close photo of my Mother's day Roses this year. Lesson on textures. I love this look.

This is what I was doing- sitting at my very messy desk going through pictures I just took of my puppies and piglets.

It's been so fun looking through old pictures! After doing a page of Dad, I had to do a page with pictures of my with my Mom too. My sisters and I laugh at how much she dressed us all the same- in matching dresses for Easter or matching shirts at the 4th of July- but now that I have two girls I realize how much fun it is! I am so grateful for how willing my Mom is to come help out with my new babies- I couldn't do it without her! I love seeing her creativity evolve and love the quilts she's made for us. I wish I could be there to see them take shape! I love you Mom!
