This Christmas, Cole brought home a tree one week before Christmas. It was huge! We had to trim some of the top off so that it would fit in the front room. The kids and I had so much fun decorating it. They loved playing with the lights to make them blink while I enjoyed placing all of the flowers, beads and ribbon on the tree. It was such a big tree that we could only decorate the front of it- the back was completely empty! I took pictures of the tree on Christmas Eve with all of the presents and then again on Christmas Day after the presents were unwrapped.
On Christmas Eve this year, we had a preschool activity that Cade brought home that explained the meaning of traditional Christmas decorations. Then Cole read the Nativity story in the Bible. And we all got dressed in our new pajamas. The Christmas pajamas are a tradition that goes back a long time to when I was little. It’s one of my favorite things this time of year.On Christmas Morning, we woke up before the kids and had to wake them up at 7:30. We said a family prayer, had a quick breakfast and then opened presents. Santa leaves his presents out to be seen first and the kids loved what they got. Rylee: Ariel bathtub doll, stuffed Dalmatian dog, and Cocoa Puffs cereal. Cade: Handy Manny tools, stuffed Woody & Bullseye, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal. Telena: Minnie Mouse activity purse, small stuffed Minnie Mouse doll. Tammy: Pioneer Woman Cookbook and puffy vest. Cole: Elf DVD and swimming pool toy. Telena decided that the suckers were very good and tried to take all of them for herself. Cade wanted to eat his candy before opening presents, but Rylee convinced him to open them first. They had just as much fun passing out presents as they did opening their own. It was a morning filled with ripped paper, excited squeals and trying out their new stuff. Adam only had a few presents because they didn’t want to bring it all back to Texas again, so he took my camera and was the photographer today. It was nice to enjoy the morning without being the one taking pictures. My Mom and Dad loved being there with the kids and we also enjoyed a visit with Cole’s Dad during the present opening. Some of the gifts we gave this year: an apron and canning stuff for Mom, a diving flashlight for Dad, a calendar for Mom & Dad, Bear hooded towels for Cade & Telena, headbands and hairclips for Rylee & Telena, Princess footy jammies for Rylee, Cars toys for Cade and movies galore for everyone. Such a great time!
It was so fun having my parents and Adam here for Christmas. We had a blast with them. Thanks for coming! We love you!
