May Summary

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
Reading, what's that? Something I did pick up off the magazine rack at the store was "100 decorating ideas under $100." I love this little jem packed with ideas that won't break the bank.

What movies, television shows, plays, etc. did I watch this month?
From Netflix we got "Couples Retreat" which was funny. The kids have been watching John Wayne movies that we borrowed from Cole's Dad. Cade is a big fan on John Wayne right now. We are looking forward to June's new movie releases of: Twilight- Eclipse and Toy Story 3.

What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
We had another nephew get married. It was another fun-filled day with the sealing in the morning, a luncheon right after and then a reception that night. Have I mentioned that I have this weird quirk (just one). I feel like we have to match the weddings we go to. This wedding the colors were hot pink, black and gold. So the picture of us on the side -------> is what we wore. I like being all matchy matchy sometimes.

Rylee finished her first soccer season. She loved it and loved getting her medal at the end. Actually she really wanted a trophy, but still liked the medal. She also finished school this month (she missed the last day- graduation and party- because we went on our trip). I can't believe she's done with Kindergarten and that in the fall she will be gone the whole day :(

We went to Houston! We flew down for a fun week with family and Paul's wedding. I flew with the kids a day before Cole because he had to work and it was cheaper. The kids were good so I survived. I'll do a whole post on the vacation later, but one highlight was Memorial Day when we went to a lake by Huntsville and Dad, Adam, Cole and I got to SCUBA dive! I haven't been since I had kids and it was so much fun!

What gifts did I give and/or receive?
For Mother's Day, Cole went shopping with Rylee and they bought me a pearl jewelry set. We sent my Mom some cute fridge magnets of my kids and they made her a card. We bought a pretty potted flower to put on Cole's Mom's grave.

What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Plane tickets to Texas!! They were spendy, but the trip was so fun so it was worth it!

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
None that I can think of. We all stayed pretty healthy this spring.

What were my accomplishments this month?
We have a chore system and set up the rewards for the kids to earn spending money for our trip. They also found a container of change that we cashed in and used for their souvenir money. It worked great. They knew how much they had and they got to pick out what they wanted at each place we went.

What were my disappointments this month?
We paid so many bills this month- the plane tickets, Telena's broken arm (our cheapo insurance didn't pay for the x-rays or the actual cast- all FOUR of them) and then we got a bill in the mail from the IRS! What the heck! I'm so glad we have a steady income now!!

Anything else noteworthy to include?
Nothing I can think of. Sorry no pictures this time- I'm still processing the few million after our vacation!

T-Shirt Before and After

I found these cute T's at Charlotte Russe while shopping with the fam at an Outlet Mall in Texas. So while I was home, I used Mom's embroidery machine to dress it up a bit.

I love how it turned out. I just wish she lived closer. Or that I had a machine of my own...
